Many people think about the New Year as a fresh start. People make promises to themselves at the beginning of a New Year because most people want better lives. Some promises are to start good, new habits. Some promises are to stop bad, old habits. These are good goals, but most times, our promises and plans end too soon. We did not change ourselves. We might become sad and blame ourselves. We are disappointed. Maybe some of us realize we can never change. Why not try a new and different way to start this New Year? This year, we should not try and change ourselves. This year, we should allow God to make changes in our lives. Romans 12:1: So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.
